Teenage aspiring actress Patricia Douglas was raped by a company salesman at a 1937 party hosted by MGM studio executives while she was there working as a hostess. She immediately went public with her allegations about the attack, and MGM smeared her, preemptively ending her acting career and forever dragging her name through the mud in Los Angeles. But Douglas got revenge in 2003, when she dropped a bomb shell on the entertainment world, revealing and re-living the full story of her attack to Vanity Fair. It sent shock waves through Hollywood nearly 70 years after the fact, as the climate towards women had greatly changed in the decades since her attack. She also appeared in the 2007 documentary film 'Girl 27' that discussed Douglas' rape and later life.
