Two weeks away from giving birth, Sharon Tate was brutally murdered by the hands of Charles Manson's "family" in her and husband Roman Polanski's home on August 8, 1969. Tate and the multiple friends she had been hosting were found stabbed to death in what would become one of the most notorious Hollywood murder scenes of all time. The coroner found that pregnant Tate had suffered sixteen wounds -- five of which had been fatal. Polanski had been in London during the murders but flew back to Los Angeles immediately after hearing the news, allowing Life magazine to interview and photograph him in front of their home where the word "pig" had been written in Tate's blood. Manson and his followers would later be found guilty and sent to jail for their horrific crimes.
