It wasn't just fashion fans who were left shocked on July 15, 1997. As you may recall, that was the day when Gianni Versace was fatally shot on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion as he returned from a morning walk. The celebrated designer was murdered by spree killer Andrew Cunanan, who killed himself eight days later. While there are plenty of theories, there has never been one clear cut reason as to why Cunanan targeted Versace. His murder will be investigated in the latest installment of American Crime Story.
