Florida Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Husband Then Checking A Dating App While He Died

Talk about ready to move on…

A woman was arrested for second degree murder after allegedly fatally stabbing her husband in their Florida home.

Danielle Redlick (above, right) called 911 at 9:30 a.m. on January 12 to report that her husband Michael (above, left) had suffered a “tragedy” in the bathroom of their upscale home in Winter Park. Initially, she told the dispatcher that the 65-year-old “might have had a heart attack” — but her story soon changed.

The 45-year-old later alleged that the two “had an altercation, and he stabbed himself, and I ran into the bathroom,” continuing through sniffles:

“And I tried to help him, I saw him lying in blood.”

When asked whether Michael, an exec at the University of Central Florida who once worked for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, was killed by the heart attack or the stabbing, Danielle said:

“Probably the stabbing triggered it, I guess. I don’t know.”

The picture was much clearer when police arrived at the bloody scene that appeared to have been tampered with: Michael was dead on the flood near the home’s entrance, surrounded by a pool of blood, with bloody towels by his side.

According to the affidavit, a trail of blood led back to the master bedroom. One of the officers noted in the report that the house smelled like bleach.

Michael’s death was eventually declared to be a homicide by the Medical Examiner, who noted that his stab wounds were not self-inflicted and that he sustained seemingly defensive injuries.

It wasn’t looking good for the wife, who, according to authorities, waited 11 hours to call 911. In the meantime, police say she checked messages on a dating app on her phone.

Danielle was arrested on charges of second degree murder and tampering with physical evidence three weeks after her husband’s death.

Sources close to the couple say there had been signs of trouble in their marriage for quite some time. One friend told police that Danielle was violent, while another claimed Michael had described his marriage as “rocky” and would hide his steak knives, saying “as long as I hide the steak knives everything will be fine.”

Danielle has been ordered by a judge to be held without bond. She has pleaded not guilty.
