Way to really go the extra mile!!!
Major kudos are due to a Texas teacher named Shannon Grimm, for supporting one of her students in a way that most wouldn’t.
The kindergarten teacher recently got a pixie cut to match that of her Meador Elementary School student, Prisilla Perez, after the five-year-old girl was teased relentlessly by students about her “boyish” new look.

Trouble in the classroom began at the beginning of the year when Grimm noticed that Prisilla had become more withdrawn as a result of all the teasing. Speaking to news outlet KTRK, the five-year-old admits:
“I would cry because I would think school was not fun.”
The teacher added that the young girl resorted to wearing hats everyday to try and cover up her hair, but that didn’t stop the other students from calling her out:
“[Her] friends started to call her a boy, and those words cut deep. Anytime I would put my arm around to help her with her work she would get stiff and nervous.”
Ugh, how terrible.
The sad situation inspired Shannon to think of a way to help bring confidence back to her beloved student, and teach the rest of her students a lesson in kindness and acceptance. After the winter break, the educator returned with a shorter look to match Prisilla, even rocking her student’s same signature bow!

Aww, how sweet!
The outlet says Prisilla was awarded the Student of the Month Award for her courage, and the kindergartener even surprised Grimm with a medal for “being her hero.”
Way to challenge gender norms and be an overall great human being! We love this!
