Performance anxiety, Victoria Beckham?!
While some of the Spice Girls are gearing up for their much-anticipated reunion tour in a string of shows around the U.K. later this year, there’s allegedly one Spice Girl who is “petrified” of the thought of performing. That’s right — according to Mel C, it’s Posh Spice herself that’s too scared to perform! Seriously — what a thing to say!!

Speaking on Jay Rayner‘s Out to Lunch podcast, Mel C — real name Melanie Chisholm — opened up about what she thought about Victoria’s hesitancy to perform, referencing a poor performance at the 2012 Olympics in London and adding more (below):
“I’m sure, Victoria wouldn’t mind me saying, the Olympics was hard for her. You know, she’s moved on, her life has changed, and she just doesn’t have that love of performing, and in fact, it completely petrifies her.”
Whoa!! Shady!!!
That’s a major accusation, of course, considering Victoria used to perform along with all the rest of ’em during the Spice Girls’ heyday in the 1990s!

But the 45-year-old star wasn’t done there, either… Mel C went on to explain more about Victoria and the reunion tour, too, telling Rayner (below):
“She’s extremely busy and successful in what she’s doing. She has put her heart and soul into her business, and … to step away from that, and … not give it the time that she does at the moment would be difficult. But also, I’m sure, if she felt passionate about being on stage and loved it, then she’d be there. We’re all very sensitive of that, and we completely understand. We’re all sad that Victoria won’t be joining us, but it’s all genuinely very supportive you know, obviously understand and support her.”
Wow! It’s almost like Mel C thought better of her initial quote mid-interview, and opted to try to walk back her comments a little bit by being so understanding and supportive suddenly about Victoria’s busy schedule! Are you buying that walk-back, y’all???
