On Wednesday, Prince Harry attended a WE Day event where he gave a speech in front of thousands of students and teachers, with the intent of inspiring them to make positive social change.

While addressing the audience, the Duke of Sussex said:

“If we look at the world we’re living in, I know it can feel challenging sometimes — but your role is to shine the light…Every day you are inundated with an overexposure of advertising and mainstream media, social media and endless comparisons, distorting the truth, and trying to manipulate the power of positive thinking… But you don’t let them sway you.”

The 34-year-old added:

“Because you don’t need to hide behind your device to share your voice. You confidently voice your opinions because you can embrace them proudly.”

Harry then brought up his pregnant wife, who “often reminds” him of “one of her favorite quotes by Martin Luther King Jr.”:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

That’s when Harry surprised the crowd by telling them:

“Alright, now I’m going to try to drag my wife on stage!”

LOLz, see! He said drag!

Lo and behold, the Duchess of Sussex appeared on stage, wearing black Rag & Bone maternity jeans and a navy blazer.

After the former Suits actress waved to the audience, Harry concluded his speech by saying:

“Guys, I am with you and we are with you — now get to work!”

Afterwards, students Lucy Brightman-Stokes, 12, and Sinead Hubbard, 14, were among the few to meet the married couple privately backstage.

Hubbard remarked:

“It was nerve-wracking, but really exciting. We have them a teddy bear for the baby and a card from our school and they said it was lovely.”

Brightman-Stokes added:

“Harry said he was happy it was a soft teddy, not a hard one, and said, ‘That will go in the crib.'”

Harry previously attended a WE Day event five years ago, with his then-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.

Other speakers at the bash included Naomi Campbell, former One Direction member Liam Payne, Nicole Scherzinger, and model Iskra Lawrence.

In October 2018, Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement that Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child. It read:

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019… Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

We can’t wait to see their baby!
