UPDATE 2:03 P.M. PST: Paris has reportedly been released from the hospital and is being looked after by her team.
This is so sad and terrifying.
According to TMZ, Paris Jackson attempted suicide on Saturday, and was immediately taken to the hospital early in the morning and placed on a 5150 hold.

She is currently being monitored by a team of doctors.
Sources say this attempt is a direct response to all the fallout from the Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland that is airing on HBO.
Attention has been on Paris since all the fallout from the documentary, and she has given some responses on social media but hasn’t made any official statement.
On Friday afternoon, in response to one of our stories, she said:
That tweet reads:
“i am defending him, in my own way. you’re a really smart guyyyyyyyy.”
The 20-year-old has made other remarks by responding to people on Twitter. She responded to another outlet with this remark:
“I actually haven’t made any statements yet, especially regarding how it affects my work life. You guys are reaching a bit. At least this wasn’t a disgusting and attacking article though.”
She has also said that she stands with cousin Taj Jackson, who has been very vocal in his support of his late uncle:
“There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said in regards to defense. Taj is doing a perfect job on his own. And I support him. But that’s not my role. I’m just tryna get everyone to chill out and go with the flow, be mellow and think about the bigger picture. That’s me.”
Obviously her support of Taj can also be seen as support for her late father. We’re not even entirely sure she should make an official statement. That’s ultimately up to her. Some sources say that the documentary has really caused a lot of distress for Paris and siblings Prince and Blanket.
Neither Prince nor Blanket have made any comment about it, and with the starlet being the most high-profile of the three of them with her own modeling and acting gigs, it seems people have been looking to her to make some sort of comment.
Do U think it’s up to Paris to make any type of statement at all? Is it even up to her to defend her father? She was only 11 when Michael passed away in 2009. We’re sure she was sheltered from all the allegations of child molestation against him, and that she probably didn’t even really understand them at the time.
The 20-year-old has also been dealing with mental health issues and previously attempted suicide in 2013. We can only imagine how much of a toll all this new information against her father has taken.
Wishing her the best and hoping she fully recovers and gets all the help she needs.
