Ally Opfer was going about her life when she began to experience intense cramping — only to get to the hospital and find out that she was pregnant and IN LABOR!

The Cleveland-based cheerleading coach consistently had irregular periods and would regularly take pregnancy tests to ensure she wasn’t expecting, and even took a few that came back negative WHILE she was pregnant!

She shared with People:

“I had absolutely no symptoms either and felt totally normal, so that’s why I believed I wasn’t pregnant. Everything was normal for me. I never had morning sickness, no unusual tiredness, nothing. I never grew a baby bump or showed or anything. I gained a little bit of weight, mostly in my face, but I didn’t gain a bigger belly. I actually felt normal and great until I went into labor!”

On the morning of December 21, 2016 her “menstrual cramps” were painful, and continued to escalate through the day and night until she and her mother headed to a hospital the following day.

Initially, the doctor who examined her believed that the pain she was feeling was because of kidney stones, she explained:

“He examined my abdomen and found what he called ‘a small mass.’ He then sent me back to get an ultrasound of my ‘kidney stones’ to see if I’d require surgery. That’s when the ultrasound technician found my baby. When the doctor came in and told me I was pregnant, I was obviously shocked. I was terrified and overwhelmed. I wasn’t prepared to become a mom, let alone give birth.”

Within 30 minutes, she was rushed in for an emergency C-section and soon after delivered a “fully healthy” baby boy, Oliver, who was born at 42 weeks, AKA past full term. TLC, get her on I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant!!

A Christmas miracle, indeed!!

Though she was “shocked,” she was also very excited, Ally shared:

“I knew I always wanted to become a mom, but not that soon. So once the shock wore off, I was excited and my family was very excited too. So even though I wasn’t wanting to become a mom for a while still, I was very happy. I’ve always loved babies and kids!”

Today, Oliver is a thriving “happy, healthy two year old who is constantly learning new things!” Awww!

Everything has a silver lining, and her little boy is doing great:

“He’s starting to talk a lot more and just learned his ABC’s, can count to 12 and knows his colors. He’s super smart and I couldn’t imagine my life without him! I really didn’t know how much I needed him until I had him. I could not be happier that I have him in my life!”

What a very happy ending!!
