NYPD Officer Under Investigation After Reportedly Threatening 50 Cent's Life

An NYPD Commanding Officer is now under investigation by his department after he allegedly told fellow cops to shoot 50 Cent “on sight” during roll call at a Precinct meeting last June.

According to reports out in TMZ today, Commanding Officer Emanuel Gonzalez made the comment about 50 Cent to “shoot him on sight” while going over a meeting with his district cops about the rapper attending an NYPD boxing match last year.

Gonzalez has apparently long had beef with 50 Cent, according to the New York Daily News, who report that the Officer has previously claimed that 50 Cent harassed him on Instagram.

Gonzalez even filed a formal aggravated harassment complaint with the department because of the alleged earlier harassment.

And it all started after the rapper accused Gonzalez of “shaking down” the owner of one of 50’s favorite clubs in NYC.

Gonzalez has been with the NYPD for a long time — more than three decades — and he’s still on duty, at least as of now. Internal Affairs is investigating his reported threat, though.

This morning, 50 Cent’s legal team spoke to TMZ about the alleged threat, releasing the following statement (below):

“Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward. He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun.”

And the rapper also took to Instagram to react to the news as it came out earlier today (below):

Wow.
