Michael Jackson has at least one more backer in his corner as Leaving Neverland comes out to lots of hubbub and considerable controversy from all angles.
The man, Brett Barnes, was implied in the documentary as the man who “replaced” Wade Robson as one of Jackson’s well-known alleged victims years ago — and Barnes is PISSED that the documentary openly insinuates he was molested by the pop star.

According to TMZ, Barnes has lawyered up already, and he’s seriously threatening to sue HBO and the documentary itself, after claiming that the film “puts him in a false light,” and subjects him to “hatred, contempt and ridicule.”
Whoa!
If you recognize the name Barnes as it relates to Jackson’s story, well, you should. The very same man testified at Jacko’s criminal trial back in 2005 — along with Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin — and then vehemently denied that he was ever sexually assaulted or abused by the pop star.
He’s pissed now that Robson insinuates in the documentary film that Barnes was another one of Jackson’s victims — and Barnes is further mad that the doc makers themselves only very briefly posted the text of his own strong denial about the claims. That’s not enough, so claims the lawsuit!
In the threat for the suit, Barnes claims that the doc thus paints him in a false light.

To his credit, though, Barnes has never changed his tune from the day he testified on Jackson’s behalf, as you can see from some of these old tweets on the man’s account (below):
Wow! So basically regardless of what happened to Barnes, it sure appears like he’s sticking to his guns. Commendable, without question, that he has been thinking about this — and has had a consistent, strong opinion about this — for years now.
Say what you will, it’s something to see that there are still such staunch allies of Michael Jackson all over! Does this mean there’s something to it, Perezcious readers?!
