Luke Perry‘s daughter, Sophie Perry, has no time for Internet trolls.
As we reported, the 52-year-old actor passed away, nearly a week after suffering a stroke at his Sherman Oaks, California home. He was under observation in a Burbank, California hospital, but sadly never made a recovery.

The next day, the deceased 90210 alum’s 18-year-old daughter — who was in Africa when her father suffered his stroke — shared a message on Instagram where she opened up about “not [being] really sure what to say or do in this situation.”
Sadly, some criticized Sophie for her language, wardrobe, “and most disgustingly, her grieving process.”
On Monday, she shared the (above) selfie with a message for her haters. The teen wrote:
“Since my dad died I have received a lot of attention online. And most of it has been positive but of course, some people just can’t be nice. And I’m here to say that I did not ask for this attention, I did not ask to be thrown into some virtual spotlight, and while I don’t mean to offend anybody, I’m also not going to cater to any one else’s needs and beliefs. I’m 18. I swear like a sailor and sometimes I dress like a hooker. And I support causes and you may not. And most importantly. I am going to laugh and smile and live my normal life. YES I am hurt and sad and crying and beside myself with what happened to my dad. It’s the worst thing to ever happen in my life. And I am torn the f**k up over it. But I’m not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise. And if you knew my dad you would know he wouldnt want me to. So you shouldn’t either. So to those of you shaming me for my language and my wardrobe and most disgustingly, my grieving process, do us both the favor and just unfollow. It’s a waste of both of your time.”
Luke and ex-wife, Rachel Sharp, also share 21-year-old son Jack. The two married in 1993 before splitting in 2003. Perry later got engaged to Wendy Madison Bauer.
After the Riverdale star’s death, the show’s executive producers — Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater — shared a statement with Warner Bros. TV and The CW, writing:
“We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all. A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”
