As we already reported, the beloved actor passed away at the age of 52 “surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiance Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends” on March 4 at his home in Sherman Oaks, California. It was just days after suffering a massive stroke, per a statement from his representative.

His cause of death was revealed on Wednesday morning to be an ischemic cerebrovascular accident, commonly known as a stroke, after his death certificate was obtained by TMZ.

The document also revealed that his body was transported to Dickson, Tennessee, where he was buried on Monday, March 11. He had a farm in the area and lived there part-time.

Multiple Tennesseans have shared stories and photos following his death from when he volunteered to help bring food to those in need during a 2010 flood:

In a statement to People, Perry’s 44-year-old fiancee spoke out and opened up about her grief following his passing:

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. The countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness have been a great source of solace during this difficult time.”

Wendy continued:

“The past 11½ years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him. I also want to thank his children, family, and friends for their love and support. We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man. He will be dearly missed.”

The actor’s 18-year-old daughter Sophie also recently responded to trolls who have criticized her grieving process on her Instagram:

sophie perry shares grief process after fathers passing
“Since my dad died I have received a lot of attention online. And most of it has been positive but of course, some people just can’t be nice. And I’m here to say that I did not ask for this attention, I did not ask to be thrown into some virtual spotlight, and while I don’t mean to offend anybody, I’m also not going to cater to any one else’s needs and beliefs. I’m 18. I swear like a sailor and sometimes I dress like a hooker. And I support causes and you may not. And most importantly. I am going to laugh and smile and live my normal life. YES I am hurt and sad and crying and beside myself with what happened to my dad. It’s the worst thing to ever happen in my life. And I am torn the fuck up over it. But I’m not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise. And if you knew my dad you would know he wouldnt want me to. So you shouldn’t either. So to those of you shaming me for my language and my wardrobe and most disgustingly, my grieving process, do us both the favor and just unfollow. It’s a waste of both of your time.” / (c) Sophie Perry/Instagram

May he rest in peace.
