Kate Beckinsale doesn’t get why y’all are making such a big fuss over her romance with Pete Davidson.
The Widow star spoke on her highly-publicized relationship with the Saturday Night Live performer in a new interview with The Los Angeles Times, admitting that the public’s fascination with it is “quite shocking” to her.

She revealed:
“I’m surprised by the interest. I’ve never been in this position before. [I’ve] never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief. It’s all quite shocking and something to get used to.”
Sure, all that attention could put a strain on the duo — but the actress insists she’s unbothered by it all because she’s just so into the 25-year-old comedian. She explained:
“I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it’s not.”
The 46-year-old must really be into Pete’s “bag of mischief,” as she called it, because Kate went on to confess that having such a high-profile romance can be stressful at times:
“I’d rather not have people hiding outside my house. It’s a little old fashioned to have a woman’s personal life [looked at like that]. It’s a little bit tired.”
As we know, the actress is anything but old fashioned.
After she and Ariana Grande’s ex first linked up in January, a source told Us Weekly that it’s “no surprise” the Underworld star likes the Set It Up actor, seeing as she seemingly has a thing for youthful men of a certain energy.
But it does sound like the intense spotlight on her love life is something she can live without. Maybe that’s why she deleted all of her posts on Instagram last week?
Before she was with Davidson, Beckinsale was in an eight-year romance with actor Michael Sheen, with whom she shares a 20-year-old daughter, Lily, until 2003. The actress went on to marry Underworld director Len Wiseman in 2004, but they split in 2016.
Pete, who is no stranger to headline-generating relationships, addressed his romance with Kate on SNL earlier this month. He told Colin Jost on Weekend Update that the public’s “crazy fascination” with their age difference “doesn’t really bother” the couple, adding:
“But, then again, I’m new to this, so if you have questions about a relationship with a big age difference, just ask Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Statham, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum, Scott Disick, Dane Cook, Derek Jeter, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee, Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, and whoever the president of France is, Mel Gibson, Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, Sylvester Stallone, Eddie Murphy, Kelsey Grammer, Larry King, Larry King, Larry King, Rod Stewart, and Donald Trump.”
Clearly, these two aren’t letting a few headlines ruin the good thing they have going.
