Kate Beckinsale’s ex-boyfriend hopes Pete Davidson is keeping his legs stretched… just in case!
Comedian Matt Rife, who dated the 45-year-old actress for a year in 2017, was talking to TMZ outside the Laugh Factory in El Lay Monday night when the subject of his ex’s new flame came up.

When asked if he had any advice for his romantic successor, who has been linked to Beckinsale since late January, the 23-year-old said he hoped Davidson was prepared to ghost her at the drop of the hat, jokingly quipping:
“Man to man? Run.”
Ouch.
If that wasn’t enough of an indication that things between them went sour, Rife admitted that his year long romance with the Underworld actress was “complicated,” explaining:
“We dated for a year and it was… complicated. A lot of ups and downs, but she’s moved on and I’m hoping they’ve both found — or are getting out of it what they want to get out of it.”
Damn. Who ordered the extra salt?
Rife went on to offer the pair a more earnest response, adding:
“Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy, I hope that it can build to where it’s an established, good relationship… Best of luck to both of you.”
Thank u, next, we guess?
Rife is best known for his appearances on MTV’s Wild N Out and Total Request Life. Interestingly enough, he knows the Saturday Night Live star from the comedy scene, but says he hasn’t seen him in years.
Clearly, Kate has a type!
As for the 25-year-old, he got out of a relationship with Ariana Grande back in October, about three months after getting engaged to the songstress. While the pop star has been open about her split on her album thank u, next, the comedian hasn’t been so public about the breakup, though he reportedly had some hurt feelings.
Poor guy!
This is Pete’s seemingly first relationship since Ari, so we’re hoping it goes a little better for him than the last one! Also, how many times has an ex-boyfriend called a woman some horrible name, when in reality she’s perfectly WONDERFUL and fine? Such a double standard put on women to be absolutely every single thing for every one in her life when society’s power dynamics still oppress women.
So, do U think he should “run” from Kate?? Or do U think he should embrace her for the HUMAN she is?? Sound off in the comments (below)!
