This is SO funny to watch, but it also serves as a good reminder if you ever find yourself Down Under: kangaroos can be MEAN… and they like to punch!
In the viral video (above), a man was paragliding on Thursday just outside of Canberra, Australia, when he opted to land at the landing strip of the Orroral Space Tracking Station in a relatively rural area. And as you can see when you watch the video — taken from a camera strapped onto the person’s gear — everything seemed to be going just fine leading up to the landing, and then immediately afterwards.
But then the kangaroo showed up…

And as you can see pretty much immediately after he touched down, things didn’t go exactly as planned for the poor guy after he landed.
He explained how everything went down in the comments of the video itself (below):
“I had been Paragliding cross country for two hours near Canberra and had reached a position where I had to land. It is the last cleared valley where I could safely land, as over the next ridge there is only wilderness and trees. I decided to land on the concrete slab of the old Orroral Space Tracking Station. I was concentrating on the landing and didn’t notice the Kangaroo until after I landed. As it ran towards me I thought it was being friendly so I said ‘What’s Up, Skip?’ It then attacked me twice before hopping away. I packed up my paraglider and had to walk several kilometers to get phone reception and call a friend to come and collect me.”
That’s seriously too funny!
Australia is rife with all kinds of crazy wild animal stories, and this is just another legendary one to put in the queue! That it’s incredibly funny and totally memorable too makes it all that much better! Who among us wouldn’t want to travel Down Under now?!

And let that be a lesson to y’all… never, ever go ANYWHERE in Australia without being ready to fight a kangaroo! Ha!!! Oh, and by the way… “f*cking kangaroos” is the best throwaway end-of-video response ever. What a great 38 seconds all-around!
