K-pop scandal!!
Artist Jung Joon-young has been arrested on Thursday for allegedly secretly filming sexually explicit videos of women without their knowledge or consent and illegally sharing them with others in a private chat, including other South Korean stars.
The Seoul Central District Court issued a warrant out for his arrest after the 30-year-old publicly addressed his victims and “everyone who has showed affection for me” at a hearing. He was later taken to a downtown station in handcuffs.

It was just earlier this month that the singer admitted to his crimes in a statement translated by Soompi from Korea’s Herlad:
“I admit to all my crimes. I filmed women without their consent and shared it in a social media chatroom, and while I did so I didn’t feel a great sense of guilt.”
Another star also involved in this now notorious chat room is Big Bang‘s Seungri, a member of one of South Korea’s most popular boy bands.
As we reported, the 28-year-old took to his Instagram on Monday, March 11 to reveal he’s retiring from the industry as he comes under investigation over his alleged involvement in offering prostitutes to investors at Seoul night club Burning Sun.

“This is Seungri. At this moment, it seems like it would be good for me to retire from the entertainment industry. I’ve decided to retire from the entertainment industry because of the huge social controversy that has arisen. I am under investigation, and I will receive investigation with sincerity so that the building suspicions can be revealed.
During the past month and a half, I have received criticism and hate from the public and been in a situation where every investigative agency in this country is investigating me. I just cannot accept causing pain to those around me just for my sake.”
His post ended with a thank you to his band mates, his management with YG Entertainment, and a sincere apology to all the fans who’ve supported him:
“I would like to sincerely thank all of the fans both in and out of Korea who have shown me love for the past ten years. For the sake and honour of Big Bang and YG, [my career is] ending here.
I would like to apologize one more time. Thank you for everything throughout the years.”

It has been known for Koreans involved in controversies to apologize, even if they claim to be innocent.
But making the Burning Sun scandal even crazier, other idols — AKA South Korean singers — are also being investigated. F.T. Island band member Choi Jong-hoon, Highlight singer Yong Jun-hyung, and CNBlue’s Lee Jong-hyun are also facing trouble.
In text messages obtained by the Korea Times, they are said to have also sent sexually explicit videos of women to their secret chat, with some making jokes about rape. WTF!
Jung is the only one to be arrested so far, and he’s already been dropped by his agency MakeUS Entertainment.
These allegations are absolutely sickening, and we hope the victims find justice.
