Gwyneth Paltrow consciously discusses her “conscious uncoupling” from ex-husband, Chris Martin!
In a clip from an interview with Today‘s Savannah Guthrie that dropped on Tuesday, the goop businesswoman opened up about co-parenting with the Coldplay frontman, with whom she shares daughter Apple, 14, and son Moses, 12.

The two split in March 2014 — after ten years of marriage — and finalized their divorce in July 2016.
The Iron Man actress exclaimed:
“We really made the commitment to maintaining the family—even though we weren’t going to be a couple… And so we sort of thought through that: How would that work and how would that be? Both Chris and I have made a commitment to continue to love the things about each other that we’ve always loved and to really continue to develop our friendship and to find ways to continue to communicate.”
However, the 46-year-old admitted it’s been a “long process.”
“You really have to focus on forgiveness and, you know, spite that comes up—you have to let it go… It’s definitely not effortless… But now, at this point five years later, it’s pretty good. But the first couple of years, it was very effortful. And for the sake of the children, we were really committed to maintaining the family structure, even though it looks a little bit different.”
While Paltrow received criticism over the term “conscious uncoupling,” she said it’s nice to “see the culture embrace the idea.”
In regards to her husband Brad Falchuk, who she married in September 2018 in The Hamptons, the thespian remarked:
“I guess if you’d asked me a couple of years ago I probably would have leaned towards not getting married again, but then sometimes life just surprises you and it’s been really fun. I’m so happy that I was sort of given this other opportunity.”

While referencing his kids from a previous marriage, Gwyneth wrote the following sweet message to 48-year-old Brad:
“It’s your birthday, but it’s really feels like you are the gift. Not just to me, and to @izzyfalchuk and Brody, but to all of us who are fortunate enough to know and love you. You are my rock, my true north, my favorite person to eat with, to travel with. You are a true friend. You want only what is for the highest good. You always help me see what I can’t. I am so happy you were born @bradfalchuk I love you so much.”
As for 42-year-old Martin, she wrote:
“Happy Birthday CAJM. This is a special one. We love you so much. #42”
Chris is currently dating Dakota Johnson.
