The characters in Joss Whedon's meta-horror comedy didn't, sadly, and ended up encountering horrors of all genres. Don't be like them. If you come across any locals who say vague, foreboding things about your destination, take their advice. You might lose money on the deposit, but at least you won't have to be sacrificial entertainment for a bunch of angry elder gods.
