The Black Dahlia (2006)Brian De Palma directs this chilling film, which draws upon one of the most infamous unsolved murder cases in California -- the 1947 Elizabeth Short case. The body of actress Elizabeth Short (nicknamed "The Black Dahlia") was found cut in half, mutilated, and unrecognizable in a Los Angeles parking lot with no killer ever found. Josh Hartnett and Aaron Eckhart play detectives on the case, whose love interests (Hilary Swank and Scarlett Johansson) have some insight of what could have happened.
