The Actors Learned The Story As They Went AlongThe actors weren't just playing lost in the woods; they truly had no idea where they were going! Mike, Heather, and Josh learned the plot as filming went along, as the directors would send them to a location and not tell them which people were 'characters' and which were normal people. The actors had to stay in character as they found the plants who would direct them to the next location. Once in the woods, the trio were lead to various wait points using GPS units that were programmed by the crew. At each point, they found milk crates with three little plastic canisters in them -- each plastic canister contained notes on where the story was going for each character. The actors would not show the other two their paper, but they were free to improvise their lines as long as they stuck to the general story. If one of the actors wanted to break character, he or she would say “taco.”
