Donald Trump wants the FBI and Department Of Justice to redirect their attentions to a nationwide embarrassment that isn’t Donald Trump.
The President took to Twitter weigh in on Chicago prosecutors’ decision to drop all charges against Jussie Smollett, calling the case “an embarrassment to our Nation” and suggesting that it would be reviewed by the FBI and DOJ.
He shared early Thursday morning:
A hot take from POTUS, who is no stranger to federal investigations nor embarrassing a nation. Just a day earlier, he accused the FBI officials who investigated his possible ties to Russia of treason.
But Trump isn’t the only one who feels justice hasn’t been served in the Smollett case. As we reported, the 36-year-old was originally accused of orchestrating a hate crime and was indicted on 16 counts of filing a false police report.

All charges against the actor were dismissed on Tuesday in exchange for community service and Smollett forfeiting a $10,000 bond payment to the city of Chicago. The FOX star never had to admit guilt, telling press that he has been exonerated.
Many were irate over the ruling, including the Chicago P.D. and mayor Rahm Emanuel, who called the decision a “whitewash of justice.” The Chicago Police Union has since called for a federal investigation into the actions of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, who reportedly believed there was no point in prosecuting the actor over the alleged hoax “because Jussie would have only gotten community service if convicted.”
First Assistant to the Cook County State’s Attorney Joseph Magats previously said prosecutors dropped the case because Smollett does not have a violent criminal history, and allegedly lying about the attack was not a violent crime. However, he’s since clarified that he did not believe the actor was “innocent” and said “alternative prosecutions” from prison time happen on the reg in the county.

While the actor may be legally in the clear — for now, at least — he knows he’s still faced with the huge challenge of making himself likable to the public again.
His attorney Tina Glandian appeared on TODAY Thursday, and even went as far to say one of the attackers might have been in WHITEFACE… We can’t make this s**t up! Watch the full interview (below)!
“He at this point again has been victimized much more by what’s happened afterwards than what happened that night.”

“He only saw one of the attackers. One of them he didn’t see. He saw one through a ski mask. Again, he could not see their body. Everything was covered, and he had a full ski mask on except the area around the eyes… He did tell police that he — from what we saw, he thought it was pale skin or white or pale skin, was I think what he said. And that was what he — and that’s why he initially did have a hard time…
Well, you know, I mean, I think there’s — obviously, you can disguise that. You can put makeup on. There is, interestingly enough, a video. You know, I think police had minimal investigation in this case, it took me only five minutes to Google. You know, I was looking up the brothers, and one of the videos that showed up actually was of the brothers in whiteface doing a joker monologue with white makeup on him. So, it’s not — it’s not implausible.”
Right, Tina…
Additional sources close to Smollett tell TMZ that his team is in crisis management mode to fix his public image, as his job offers have completely dried up since he was arrested last month for allegedly staging the attack.
The actor is said to be ready and willing to do anything — interviews, appearances, and going outside his comfort zone — as a means to reconnect with his audience and prove that he’s still the victim he claims to be. If he doesn’t, he knows he’ll probably never work again.
