Al Gore III was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of DUI.
Now that is an inconvenient truth!
The former Vice President’s son, 24, was jailed after he was pulled over by police for about 100mph and having drugs – lots of drugs -├é┬á├é┬áin his car.
Hey, at least he was driving a hybrid vehicle!
Al Gore III was driving a blue Toyota Prius on the southbound San Diego (5) Freeway about 100 mph at bout 2:15 a.m. Wednesday morning when a sheriff’s deputy stopped him at the Crown Valley Parkway exit in Orange County.
The deputy smelled marijuana and a search of the car turned up less than an ounce of suspected pot, along with prescription drugs including Valium, Xanax, Vicodin and Adderall.
Damn, that’s a mini pharmacy up in that eco-friendly car!
His son’s arrest comes at a very inconvenient time for the former Vice President. Al Gore is expected in New Jersey this weekend for the big Live Earth concert he helped organize.
This is not Al Gore III’s first brush with the law.
The troubled young man has quite the checkered history with drugs and illegal activity.
– In 1996, he was suspended from his high school for smoking marijuana.
– In August 2000, he was ticketed for reckless driving by North Carolina police for driving 94 mph.
– In September 2002, military police arrested him on suspicion of drunk driving near a military base in Virginia.
– In 2003, he was charged with marijuana possession in Maryland after police stopped the car he was driving for not having its headlights on.
– In February 2004, he entered a substance abuse program as part of a plea agreement.
We hope this troubled young man gets his act together.
For good!
