This is the dumbest defense we’ve heard in a while.
A newly surfaced video shows R. Kelly’s manager defending the disgraced singer’s alleged sex tapes with minors, arguing that the recordings could actually prove his innocence!
On Monday, the day the R&B star was released from custody on bail, his manager Don Russell was recorded talking to a group of reporters, insinuating that his client’s accusers were being untruthful.
As we reported, Kelly was arrested on Friday for 10 counts of criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims, three of whom were underage. In the video shared by Fox 32 Chicago reporter, Tia Ewing, Russell suggests that some of Kelly’s alleged victims had an “agenda.”

Russell also believes that the alleged sex tape submitted to police by attorney Michael Avenatti, which purportedly shows the Grammy winner performing sex acts with a 14-year-old girl, might actually work as evidence in his client’s favor.
After acknowledging that the sex tapes of Kelly do exist, he claimed that the artist had been advised to record sex acts to prove that the encounter was consensual, telling reporters:
“The videos exist. The only way to prove that [the sex] was consensual is maybe for him to tape it. That’s not what he chose to do, he was advised to do so on some occasions.”
So, with that logic, the tapes should exonerate Kelly? We have a feeling it will do the complete opposite… but, hey, that’s none of our business. *Sips tea*
Russell also admitted that Kelly might have some sexual problems — which he attributed to the alleged sexual abuse the 52-year-old suffered as a child — but insisted that his client is “not the monster that everybody is portraying him to be.” He argued:
“He should be in the room with a psychiatrist, not police… You gotta think about the agenda of those folks who are targeting him.”
