In 2012, 28-year-old actor Johnny Lewis was found dead at the Los Feliz home of his 81-year-old landlady Catherine Davis. Authorities later determined that Lewis murdered Davis, along with her cat, before presumably falling off the roof of her house. Though he had a history of drug abuse, autopsy reports concluded that Lewis did not have any drugs or alcohol in his system, leaving many to speculate a psychological disorder caused the mayhem. After the news made national headlines, sources spoke out about it "devastating" Katy Perry -- who dated the troubled Sons of Anarchy actor from 2005-2006. Fans would soon speculate how her song Circle The Drain was partly about Lewis.
